Watch: Moses Sumney shares abstract, partially animated at-home performance of ‘Bless Me’

It was created using Microsoft Azure Kinect

Moses Sumney has shared a live performance video for “Bless Me,” which was filmed at his home studio in North Carolina and merged with abstract 3D animation via Microsoft Azure Kinect.

Sumney had originally intended to create a museum installation with the Kinect software prior to the spread of COVID-19. Now, the piece has become “an experiential piece exploring isolation and solitude,” Sumney explains.

Sam Cannon worked with Sumney to create the performance video, directing Sumney’s physical moments via Skype. The actions were then captured using Azure Kinect through sensors tracking him in real time.
