If you’ve ever visited Niagara Falls you’ve probably done a lot of things found in the Mounties new video for “Tokyo Summer”. Niagara’s Clifton Hill is filled with family friendly attractions: dinosaur mini putting, wax museums, indoor sky diving and arcades, while the beautiful falls almost become an after thought.
Here’s what director Kevin Funk had to say:
“The falls became this metaphorical backdrop of the video’s lead character, this middle-aged man whose life is slipping away from him, and his desperate attempt to fill that void has left him poised for a seemingly imminent free fall structured around this thematic anchor. We wanted to create a video that captured the necessary emotional depth with a dark sense of humour.
