Nick Offerman, manly-man and comedian extraordinaire, has released the newest in a series of video advertisements for global alcohol company Diageo. Each of his videos is hosted on YouTube under the channel “My Tales of Whiskey Official“, and features him doing various things while advertising the different brands of alcohol Diageo imports.
His dry sense of humor and expressionless looks are perfect for these videos. For example, check out this one of him reading poetry at a distillery in Scotland, or this one where he shoots a music video.
We loved him as super-manly Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation, and parts of this character shine through in these advertisements. “Clear alcohols are for rich women on diets” is one of Swanson’s most memorable quotes on the show, and it seems this whiskey-sipping gentleman in the video would concur.
This newest installment was released on December 2, and showcases him drinking Lagavulin whiskey for 45 minutes straight. The video already has 1.2 million views – can you believe it?
The description of the video reads “Enjoy 45 minutes of uninterrupted Lagavulin™ Single Malt Scotch Whisky-drinking bliss with Nick Offerman by the Yule Log Fireplace… and you don’t even need to exchange words.”
Not exchanging words is right. Offerman barely moves in his fine leather chair throughout the entire video, occasionally sipping, blinking, and refilling his glass but once. Check out the comments, viewers are sharing their favourite minuscule moments.
