Last night, Orville Peck paid tribute to the late Kenny Rogers with a solo acoustic rendition of “Islands in the Stream.”
Peck performed the 1983 hit, which was a collaboration with Dolly Parton, about halfway through his live-streamed, at-home concert. “This is one of my all-time favourite country duets,” Peck said before honouring Rogers, who had died three days prior at age 81 from natural causes.
The live-stream concert, where he also performed tracks like “Hope to Die,” “Winds Change,” and “Turn To Hate,” marked the one-year anniversary of his debut album Pony.
