Watch: Ride shotgun in the new Rostam video for ‘From The Back Of A Cab’ with Charli XCX and HAIM

His upcoming sophomore album 'Changephobia' comes out June 4th

American producer, musician, singer and songwriter Rostam recently released his new single “From The Back Of A Cab” along with its music video. The video, shot by Jason Lester and Rostam and produced by Laura Burhenn, features appearances from all-stars HAIM, Charli XCX, Wallows, Samantha Urbani and more riding in the back of a cab car.

The emotional track “is probably my favourite song that I’ve written,” Rostam explains, “I built the song around those drums over time, writing the piano part in my living room, the melodies and lyrics on foot walking in New York and Tokyo, on California’s highways and on the flights and car trips between all those places.”

The video is charming and plays nicely alongside Rostam’s sentimental lyrics, showing small glimpses into the lives of numerous different people.

His album Changephobia will be released on June 4th including singles, “Unfold You”, “These Kids We New” and “4Runner.”

In a press release, Rostam said that the record was inspired by changes in his life “that had altered its course” as well as afterwards hearing a stranger say, “change is good. Go with it.”
