Indie rockers Soccer Mommy made their late night debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, where they performed two tracks from their forthcoming album, color theory, which drops tomorrow.
The band, which is fronted by Sophie Allison, delivered powerful performances of “lucy” and “circle the drain” in front of a retro, animated video. Their performance of “circle the drain” was driven by nostalgic guitar lines and Allison’s perfectly silky falsettos, as she sings, “Hey, I’ve been falling apart these days/ Split open, watching my heart go/ Round and around.” “Lucy,” on the other hand,” was a bit grittier, with grungy, distorted guitars and powerful wails from Allison.
