Watch: Sufjan Stevens releases new Luca Guadagnino-directed video for ‘Tell Me You Love Me’

The duo collaborated in the past on 'Call Me by Your Name'

After collaborating on Call Me By Your Name, Sufjan Stevens has reunited with director Luca Guadagnino for a new video for Stevens’ The Ascension track, “Tell Me You Love Me.”

The video, which was made in collaboration with Alessio Bolzoni and Celia Hempton, opens sparsely, with some colourful flashing dots in front of a black background, before opening to someone lying on the floor of an all-white space. As the clip progresses, it flashes to various people rolling around on the ground in what seems like a limitless room, interspersed with shots of equally sparse, haunting landscapes.

The clip fits the ominous, atmospheric track perfectly, as Stevens delivers silky vocals, singing, “My love, I feel myself unraveling/ Tell me you love me anyway.”

Guadagnino is gearing up to direct a new film called Bones & All, which will also star Timothée Chalamet.
