Throwback to July, when Tegan And Sara announced that they have a new synth-pop track featured in the Clea Duvall- directed movie The Intervention.
If their last made-for-movie tune, 2014’s “Everything is Awesome”, for The Lego Movie was any indication of how the identical twins can spruce up a soundtrack, it’s bound to be in your head soon.
Now, the Canadian sisters have released a video for the new track, “Fade Out”, which is jam-packed with cute behind-the-scene moments from the film.
“I played a rough idea of it for Clea [DuVall] and she really liked it,” Sara Quin told Rolling Stone. “So I tried to imagine Melanie Lynskey’s character and the misguided attempt to fix other people’s lives when she herself was headed for a fadeout in her own relationship and rewrote the lyrics.”
The Intervention hits theatres August 26 and stars Cobie Smulders, Jason Ritter and Alia Shaukat, just to name a few.
