The 1975’s Matty Healy made his return to the stage last night, after struggling with an illness that forced the British band to cancel a performance in Brisbane. During the performance, Healy took to the stage dressed in a hospital gown.
The band were set to headline yesterday’s Laneway Festival, but withdrew from the Brisbane date after Healy was hospitalized from suffering a “bout of serious sickness” after a medical examination, when the frontman was advised that he was “too weak to play.” Healy told fans on Twitter that he was “alive and well” and revealed that “shit just got way too vibey.”
Healy and the band later managed to make the Sydney date of the festival at The Domain, where Healy walked onto the stage in a hospital gown, opening the track with “People.”
