The Lumineers recently took to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to perform “Life in the City” off of their recently released album III.

The powerful performance revolved around an intimate, yet driven instrumental line that truly let frontman Wesley Schultz’s vocals shine. Schultz’s vulnerable lyricism also took the lead as he sang lines like, “And if the sun don’t shine on my today/ And if the subways flood and bridges break/ Will you just lay down and dig your grave?/ Or will you rail against your dying day?”
