Watch: The National Perform ‘Oblivions’ on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’

Matt Berninger and co. perform the track with Mina Tindle

The National appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon as the musical guest on Monday night where they performed the single “Oblivions” from their recent album, I Am Easy To Find.

The song was co-written by The National’s frontman, Matt Berninger, and his wife, Carin Besser. The band’s performance was backed up by the vocals of Mina Tindle, the choir group Brooklyn Youth Chorus, and an orchestral sextet. The five-piece band had about 30 people on stage, but The National managed to own the performance by making it intimate and meditative just like in the studio version, with stellar melodies by Berninger and Besser.
