Thom Yorke has delivered an intense performance of “Daily Battles” on The Late Show.
The performance saw Yorke on stage alone, playing ambient, sparse keys, making for an emotive, powerful rendition of the track. “Daily Battles” was created for Edward Norton’s new flick, Motherless Brooklyn, and it makes for a strong, melancholic ballad.
“In my generation, no one has really captured longing in the heart and terror in the head like Thom,” Norton explained to the Rolling Stone of the track. “He has really grabbed the nerve of the fearfulness of the age that we’re living in and also figured how to create anthemic melody and total discord and chaos at the same time.”
