Watch: Thundercat collaborates with Ace Hashimoto in video game-style clip for new track ‘VAPORWAVES’

It's available for a limited time only

After collaborating with HAIM on a remix of “3 AM,” Thundercat has linked up with Ace Hashimoto for “VAPORWAVES,” alongside a video game-themed clip.

Hashimoto originally dropped the dreamy new tune, which revolves around a funky bassline, earlier this week as an exclusive on his Patreon page. The track is now available on YouTube “for a limited time only” in the form of a glitchy animated video that sees Thundercat and Hashimoto making their way through the streets in a car.

“This song is about existential crisis and I believe it was that concept that led me to feeling free enough to do things I’ve always wanted to do, while also being even more grateful for the things I CAN do,” Hashimoto wrote of the tune. “Basically, be aware of your own mortality. Remember, we’re all just human. And tell the people you care about, ‘I’m happy to have you in my life.'”
