Tim Baker, former frontman of Hey Rosetta!, has just released a poetic and yearning new track, “Dance,” along with a video that documents the way Baker wanted to reveal the new solo songs and connect to them first.
The raw video is a live performance of the new track where Baker plays in front of a small, cozy audience of dedicated listeners.
“Dance is a song about wanting to dance and move and connect with someone, but it comes from a place of stillness and disconnection,” Baker explains in a statement. “So it’s also about mental health, and living and aging in a time when technology increasingly makes watchers out of doers.”
Watch and listen to “Dance” below.
Baker’s new album will be released in early 2019, which will be full playful arrangements. He will also be supporting Bahamas on select tour dates, and you can catch Baker at The Danforth Music Hall on November 1st through November 4th.
