Watch: Tool drummer Danny Carey pays tribute to Rush’s Neil Peart at San Diego concert

Peart died last week after a battle with brain cancer

On Friday night, Tool drummer Danny Carey paid tribute to Rush’s Neil Peart, who passed away last week after his battle with brain cancer.

The performance saw Carey delivering a drum solo rendition of the Fear Inoculum track “Chocolate Chip Trip” as a picture of him and Peart flashed on the screen behind him. In addition to the solo, Tool reportedly played a quick cover at the San Diego show, which saw them delivering a performance of Rush’s 1976 track “A Passage to Bangkok.”
