On Friday night, Tool drummer Danny Carey paid tribute to Rush’s Neil Peart, who passed away last week after his battle with brain cancer.
The performance saw Carey delivering a drum solo rendition of the Fear Inoculum track “Chocolate Chip Trip” as a picture of him and Peart flashed on the screen behind him. In addition to the solo, Tool reportedly played a quick cover at the San Diego show, which saw them delivering a performance of Rush’s 1976 track “A Passage to Bangkok.”
