Watch: Toronto’s Romana shares new video for ‘Holding Space’

Tune into the final instalment of Ramana's weekly live series on June 3

Toronto artist Romana has shared a video for her R&B style track “Holding Space.”

The Door Khan-directed clip was filmed in Scarborough, and it sees Romana performing from afar, adhering to social distancing, accompanied by a cup of chai. The cup of chai is meant to honour Romana’s heritage, as chai is traditionally made and served by Indian women in households around the world each and every day.

“The song is about being too full to take on someone else’s stuff and the chai cup represents fullness,” Romana explains. “The chai is almost a character in the story. Noor was able to take my idea and bring into life using beautiful outdoor landscapes.”
