Watch: Wavves pay tribute to ‘The Big Lebowski’ in video for new track ‘Hideaway’

Wavves are readying their forthcoming album, Hideaway, which is set for release on July 16th via Fat Possum, and today they’ve previewed the album with a video for the title track.

“Hideaway,” which was produced by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, sees frontman Nathan Williams trying to find positivity on a rough day, delivering lines like, “Today could be anything I want it to be/ So I should be careful of everyone I meet/ Cause I don’t want your dark cloud around me.”

The accompanying Jesse Lirola-directed “Hideaway,” pays tribute to The Big Lebowski, as bassist Stephen Pope plays (and loses) a game of bowling.

“It’s real peaks and valleys with me,” Williams explains of the album. “I can be super optimistic and I can feel really good, and then I can hit a skit and it’s like an earthquake hits my life, and everything just falls apart. Some of it is my own doing, of course.”
