Originally marked for a May, 2020 release, the ninth instalment in the Fast & Furious franchise has been scheduled for a June 25 debut. Simply titled F9, the film sees many of the franchise’s familiar faces returning to the fold with Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez), Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson), Tej Parker (Ludacris), and Magdalene Shaw (Helen Mirren).
As was revealed in the film’s initial trailer, we’ll also see the return of Sung Kang as Han Lue, who has been presumed dead since the 2006 effort The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. You have to respect this series’ dedication to absurdity, if nothing else.
Check out the new trailer below.
F9 also stars John Cena, Charlize Theron, and Jordana Brewster.
And no, this won’t be the final entry in the franchise, as plans are already in place for films No. 10 and 11.
