Last night, Willie Nelson performed a new song called “Vote ‘Em Out” at a rally in support of Beto O’Rourke, a Texas Senate candidate.
After playing through some of his greatest hits, Nelson surprised fans with the new political anthem. He also gave a speech at the rally, touching on important topics including police brutality, LGBTQ discrimination, and universal healthcare.
Watch Nelson’s performance below.
Good night to everyone but especially @BetoORourke and @WillieNelson who wrote a brand new song for tonight: “The biggest gun we got/Is called the ballot box/And if you don’t like who’s in there, VOTE ‘EM OUT” pic.twitter.com/LJ1CyyWgmw

At Nelson’s annual Fourth of July picnic, he also played guitar with O’Rourke, who used to be in a punk band with Cedric Bixler Zavala.
Multiple other Texas artists performed in support of O’Rourke, including Leon Bridges and Tameca Jones.
