Watch: Yves Jarvis, Romy Lightman share video for new track ‘Elastic Band,’ announce new project Lightman Jarvis Ecstatic Band

'Banned' is set for release on June 25

Yves Jarvis and Romy Lightman have announced a new collaborative project Lightman Jarvis Ecstatic Band, and they’ll be releasing their debut album, Banned, on June 25th via Flemish Eye. As part of the announcement, they’ve shared a video for their new track “Elastic Band.”

The new track sees Jarvis and Lightman delivering stunning harmonies atop unique, textural instrumentation. The accompanying video sees an animated figure in a bubble bath, as Jarvis and Lightman perform along to the track from inside of bubbles, on top of raspberries, and more.

“There are archetypes associated with love and togetherness,” Lightman explains. “Then there’s a deeper way of being that sometimes isn’t documented. Our Ecstatic Band genuinely expresses that. It’s not only about a genre resonating and what came about musically – it’s about our love in collaboration with the wind, trillium, plague days, moss and Precambrain rock.”

The forthcoming collaborative album was recorded at Tree Museum, an outdoor art gallery in rural Ontario that has been hosting residencies for sculptors over the last 20 years.
