On Thursday, WayHome Music & Arts Festival cleverly offered up free festival passes to any attendees of the disaster that was Fyre Festival, and now the alternative rock-focused festival is extending that offer to any ticket holders of the recently cancelled Pemberton Music Festival.
The popular British Columbia festival Pemberton Music Festival filed for bankruptcy on Thursday, announcing there would be no automatic refunds for ticketholders. Written in a legal notice on the website, “the festival is now in bankruptcy and has no ability to provide refunds for tickets purchased.”
In response, WayHome is offering all tickets holders of Pemberton Music Festival free entrance. Pass holders can claim their free ticket by sending a copy of their unique confirmed ticket to firstname.lastname@example.org, before June 30th.
Eva Dunford, a spokesperson for Republic Live released the following statement in response to the B.C. festival’s sudden cancellation:
We understand the difficulties that go into the planning and execution of a large-scale festival event. First and foremost, we are music fans, and as such belong to an international community that share in our mutual successes and disappointments. It’s saddening to hear of the struggles Pemberton Music Festival organizers are dealing with, and therefore want to help by honouring all purchased ticket holders with a free pass to WayHome this summer”
