Wet Leg insult an ex-boyfriend on new single ‘Ur Mom’

Wet Leg have shared a video for another new single, “Ur Mom.”

The track comes from their highly anticipated self-titled debut album, out this Friday, April 8th. Today’s release, “Ur Mom” is an insult-ridden anthem directed at an ex-boyfriend. Lyrically, Wet Leg deliver lines like, “When I think about what you’ve become, I feel sorry for your mum.” The accompanying video is retro and cinematic, interspersed with clips of the band performing along to the track.

“I was pretty angry at the way things had gone in this particular dynamic,” Wet Leg explains. “It’s just a diss song I wrote to make myself feel better. It worked.”

Watch the video for “Ur Mom” below.

“The ‘Ur Mom’ video was all about bringing the viewer into the Wet Leg world – sprinkling details throughout the visual that not only reference at least 4 songs off the album but also plenty of inside jokes within the band too,” director Lava La Rue explains of the video. “Artistically it shows where the aesthetic of American indie films like Napoleon Dynamite fit perfectly in the scape of rural British settings – this concept first came to me when the band took me to IOW for the first time – I saw the connection and it all clicked into place.”

In addition to “Ur Mom,” Wet Leg features previously released singles “Oh No,” “Chaise Longue,” “Wet Dream,” “Too Late Now,” and “Angelica.”
