The World Poutine Eating Championship gets underway at Yonge Dundas Square tomorrow. 20000 people are expected to attend and there will be free poutine from Smokes.
Did you know that the World Poutine Eating Championship is the 2nd largest professional eating competition in the world behind only the Nathan’s Famous hot dog eating contest on Coney Island. Last years winner, Joey Chestnut, ate 25.5 pounds of poutine in just 10 minutes. This year, Ontario’s own Steven Dorgo will be competing. I chatted with him and found out how he’s been training for the event this year. Listen to Totally Toronto here.
