Warner Music have officially set up a Twitter account for The Smiths, but it looks like it will mainly be to promote existing records. Nonetheless, the verified Twitter account, despite the fact that the band broke up in 1987, may be worth keeping an eye on. You can be sure to keep updated on the band’s music history by following their account:
Please note this account is purely to celebrate the history and the music of The Smiths.

Since the split in 1987, there has been little news here and there of the band.
In 2014, former frontman of The Smiths, Morrissey, was said to have started a Twitter account until he later confirmed this was not the case.
“I gather that a Twitter account has been opened in my name – as ‘It’s Morrissey’ – but it is NOT Morrissey. I do not know who has opened this recent Twitter account, but please be aware that it is bogus. That’s, of course, if you should remotely care,” Morrissey said.
In 2009, Johnny Marr told XFM that “I think we were offered 50 million dollars for three.. possibly five shows,” according to NME. With that kind of money being turned down, a Smiths reunion tour is pretty unlikely.
Keep your eye out, these days you never do know.
