With three current Sherlock Holmes adaptations (BBC, CBS and Guy Ritchie’s film series) in the works, what’s one more to the list?
Deadline has broken the news that funny men, Ferrell and Reilly are getting the green light for their own rendition of Arthur Conan Doyle’s sleuth, aptly named Sherlock & Watson. Tropic Thunder writer, Etan Cohen will be penning and directing the comedy that is set to start shooting later this year.
Sacha Baron Cohen was originally lined up to play Watson to Ferrell’s Sherlock but the project never got off it’s feet. After wanting to collaborate on another comedy after Talladega Nights and Step Brothers, Ferrell and Reilly’s schedules happpened to line up to which Sony is seizing the opportunity. We can’t wait.
Here’s what happened the last time these two shared the screen together.
