Today on 'Totally Toronto' with Candice

Totally Toronto is a daily feature that airs weekday mornings on The Josie Dye Show at 6:25, 7:25 and 8:25am. Listen and follow along with Candice for the talk of the day.

October is Women’s History Month and feminism is strong in Toronto. In an effort to level the playing field, Rachel opened a women’s only co-working space in downtown Toronto called Make Lemonade. A co-working space is for people who work from home or coffee shops.

They can rent a desk for $25 a day to get some work done in a professional environment.

You can also have meetings and interviews at this co-working space.

The owner Rachel says that women are at a disadvantage in the business world and this is a place for women to thrive, grow and talk to other like-minded women. Men are allowed in but they must work for a woman founded company and there team must be 50% women or more.

People are split on the topic. Some think its great for women to have a place to work together while others believe that segregating women is not a solution. Listen to Totally Toronto here.
