Bethel, New York is in the process of planning a 50th anniversary celebration of Woodstock. According to an announcement from the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, the three day event will feature soon to be announced musical performers alongside TED-style talks.

The event will take place from August 16th to August 18th, and it will include “live performances from prominent and emerging artists spanning multiple genres and decades,” the announcement stated. According to the promoters, Live Nation and INVNT, the festival will use the Arts Center’s venue and facilities with entertainment villages specially created for the event.
“Fifty years ago, people gathered peacefully on our site inspired to change the world through music,” Bethel Woods CEO, Darlene Fedun, said in the statement. “As the stewards of this historic site, we remain committed to preserving this rich history and spirit, and to educating and inspiring new generations to contribute positively to the world through music, culture, and community.
