Wolf Alice – “Moaning Lisa Smile”

Do you miss the 90’s? Great news! London’s Wolf Alice is bringing it back. They’ve described themselves as “rocky-pop” but you’re going to hear a whole lot of grunge influence in here. Think Hole, but for the new millennium! Their latest EP is called Creature Sounds, — this is “Moaning Lisa Smile” by Wolf Alice.

Michael Rault – “Nothing Means Nothing”

For the last few years, singer songwriter Michael Rault has been lurking around the edges of breaking big, building buzz for his recordings and live shows. Originally from Edmonton, he moved to Toronto a little while back and dropped his album Living Daylight last year, and just dropped a new track recently. It’s washed out, laid back sound might put you in mind of Mac DeMarco, but meets the Beatles. It’s also perfect for summertime. Check out this single, “Nothing Means Nothing”.

Shamir – “On The Regular”

You’re about to hear a song that is TOTALLY addictive and it’s coming from twenty year old named Shamir from Las Vegas. You might not be able to figure out at first if you’re hearing a male or female voice — and that’s totally ok. When describing the vocals, Shamir has said: “It’s not feminine, it’s not masculine. It’s a happy medium…I feel like if the world was more like that, our problems would be gone.” — Shamir’s debut album Ratchet is coming May 19th. This one’s from the EP Northtown, and if you find it bewildering, just be brave and keep on going. Let loose and have fun!

Taylor Knox “Fire”

You might not immediately know the name Taylor Knox but you probably have heard his work before. He’s played for bands like Hayden, Jason Collett, Owen Pallet, Rich Aucoin, The Golden Dogs and so many more. But now he’s moving out to the front of the stage with his own solo stuff. He just released his EP Lines and the first single starts slow but ends up burning bright. It’s called “Fire”.

Alicia Bognanno, also known as Bully is an artist from Nashville who might remind you a little bit of 90s artists like Veruca Salt. If you’ve ever felt insecure and frustrated and you wished you could just let it out, she might be your new best friend. Her new album Feels Like is out June 23rd. This one’s called “Trying”.
