Wintersleep – “Amerika”
January seems like the perfect time to start getting excited for a new album from Wintersleep! The Great Detachment is coming out after three years of hibernation. And if this new track is any indication, it’s gonna sound… BIG. HUUUGE. GIANT!
Yeasayer – “I Am Chemistry”
Brooklyn-based beautiful weirdos Yeasayer are back this April with their first album in three years. I hope they’re not foolin’ because they say it’ll be released April 1st. The album is called Amen & Goodbye.
Daughter – “Numbers”
England’s daughter is actually three people – but it was founded by one woman named Elena Tonra who after being bullied as a kid, said she started playing music to help her “deal emotionally with life” – and she’s not the only person helped by her music — Danforth Music Hall is hosting two daughter concerts: March 7th and 8th – expect a lot of… feelings. And maybe tears. Their new album Not To Disappear is out this week.
The Zolas – “Fell In Love With New York”
We’re still waiting on a full length from Vancouver band The Zolas – but in the meantime, they dropped their Wino Oracle EP — and you’ll know the sound – it’s classic Zolas. Ever been to New York? If you have, maybe you love it – if you haven’t, this song will make you want to go there.
Lucius – “Born Again Teen”
Lucius’ second album Good Grief is out March 11. How have they spent the two years between that and their debut? Oh, just playing and working with people like Jeff Tweedy, My Morning Jacket, and Carly Rae Jepsen.
