Kings Of Leon – “Reverend”
The southern rockers picked up and moved to LA for their latest release but perhaps they didn’t forget about their roots. Kings of Leon are a family band and used to travel with their preacher father all around America, but this song’s not about him, it’s actually about country singer Blaze Foley who lived a tragic life which ended by being shot in 1989.
The Rural Alberta Advantage – “Beacon Hill”
Let’s get local, The Rural Alberta Advantage have one of the highly anticipated releases of 2017, and a new member to boot. Though the band is from Toronto front. Nils Edenloff spent most of his childhood years in Fort McMurray, this song was inspired by the wildfires that struck his hometown last year.
Jimmy Eat World – “Through”
Jimmy Eat World have the ability to keep current while still sounding like the first time you heard them. ‘Tis the season for some catchy emo, it’s the latest from Jimmy Eat World “Through” on YFL
Said The Whale – “Step Into The Dark”
Said the Whale started out as a two piece acoustic indie folk duo and have continued to evolve with every album since. Now they’re down to a core three members and are experimenting with more electro elements. I’d say this new one even has a Mother Mother vibe.
Weeknd ft. Daft Punk – “I Feel It Coming”
After the single “Starboy” was released it was clear The Weeknd and Daft Punk were a match made in musical heaven, and on this new track it actually sounds like they were able to bring Michael Jackson back from the dead.
