Lorde – Yellow Flicker Beat

Whaaat new Lorde?! YUP. This one’s from the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack and it’s haunting and dark. Lorde says it’s her attempt at getting inside Hunger Games main character Katniss’ head. If you don’t know the movies, all you need to know is that that is intense. Ready to get some goosebumps?

Stars – Trap Door
New Stars album No One Is Lost is coming out October 14. They say it’s going to be a happy record. What you’ve heard so far from it has been fun and dancier than their older stuff. This is another track from the album and it’s called “Trap Door”. Stream the No One Is Lost here.

Catfish & The Bottlemen – Kathleen

This one’s from “across the pond”. Catfish & The Bottlemen have been making music for four years but they’re finally putting out their debut full record after garnering a ton of praise overseas and building a big buzz. They just played the Garrison here in Toronto on Sunday night.

Kendrick Lamar – i

Kendrick Lamar is on his way back with a third studio album coming sometime this year. The hip hop artist was nominated for seven Grammys at the last awards – you might remember, when he didn’t win.. a lot of people saying he was snubbed big time. Maybe this’ll be his year! This is the first track from his upcoming album and it is FUN!!!

Broods – Mother & Father

New Zealand’s Broods are currently on tour with rising MEGA star Sam Smith, but they’re worth a listen all on their own. Their debut album Evergreen came out late in the summer and debuted at #1 in their home country. Check out this track from the album called “Mother and Father”… its got a killer beat.
