The Killers – “Douglas vs Tyson”

If you watched boxing in 1990 you might recall when the undefeated Mike Tyson went into the ring against Buster Douglas… and lost. Brandon Flowers hung on to that moment and wrote this one about his fallen heroes.

Of Gentlemen & Cowards – “Make it On Your Own”

Hamilton is known for many things: waterfalls, the first Tim Hortons and being a hotbed for excellent rock bands. Case in point, here’s the latest from Of Gentlemen & Cowards “Make it On Your Own.”

Childish Gambino – “Zombies”

Childish Gambino’s Awaken, My Love! is an absolute treasure of a record, so why not get to a deeper cut off the album that is kind of perfect for your Halloween mix. It might also be the sexiest song about zombies, just sayin’.

The Beaches – “Gold”

By now you should know locals The Beaches are awesome live and have a knack for writing catchy tunes. Their new record had some production help from Jimmy Shaw and Emily Haines of Metric as well. The Beaches debut Late Show came October 13th and if you have the chance to watch the video for this one, it’s a bit The Craft-meets-Weird Science with a dash of Weekend at Bernie’s.

Liam Gallagher – “For What It’s Worth”

He might be one of the mouthiest rockers out there, with a penchant for calling his brother a potato, but hey, you can’t say Liam Gallagher isn’t a talented man. Now you have a chance to hear how Liam is on his own, with his new solo record As You Were, and here’s an apology track you might not have expected.
