5 remarkable tracks you need to hear

Each week we feature five remarkable songs you need to hear on Your First Listen. In case you miss them on air, you can catch up on the weekly tracks right here. Your First Listen airs weekdays at 12:45pm, 5:45pm, and 8:45pm.

Kasabian – “Eez-Eh”

Kasbian have been doing this for 17 years now and they’re not slowing down! Their fifth studio album 48:13 came out in June and on the first single they’re moving a little further from rock and a little closer to rave.

Lykke Li – “Gunshot”

Sweden’s Lykke Li is in town on the 30th, you’ll be able to catch her at Kool Haus. But before you do that, you’re gonna want to take a listen to this one from her most recent album I Never Learn.

Bear Hands – “Agora”

This one’s from New York band Bear Hands and it’s immediately catchy. They’ve opened for bands like Passion Pit and MGMT and if you like either of those bands, this might be right up your alley. It’s from their new album Distraction.

Shakey Graves – “Dearly Departed”

If you’ve ever had to get over someone and had a hard time doing it, you might be into this one from Texas musician Shakey Graves. It’s about how he couldn’t stop seeing his ex-lover around the house. Like a ghost. His album And the War Came is out October 7th.

Walk The Moon – “Shut Up and Dance”

Here’s a shiny poppy one from Walk the Moon. They were here earlier this month at Lee’S Palace and when they were, you can bet there was some serious dancing! When you hear this song you’re gonna have a tough time stopping yourself. Makes sense – it’s called “Shut Up and Dance”.
