Twenty One Pilots – “My Blood”

Twenty One Pilots new album Trench will be out October 5th and it sounds like they explored their funky side. This one’s got quite the groove and Tyler Joseph showcases his sweet, sweet falsetto.

Arkells – “Relentless”

Time for new Arkells! Ahead of the release of their next album, Rally Cry, in October, here’s a track inspired by afro-pop artist Chicco. It’s the band’s first time experimenting with sampling. The chorus came about after Arkells hung out with Paul Langlois of the Tragically Hip and talking about the great Gord Downie never wanting to stop writing and touring. According to Langlois, Gord was “relentless. Like a dog on a bone,” and that’s what inspired the chorus.

Favours – “In The Night”

Vancouver’s The Zolas recently, via social media, asked Toronto bands and fans to suggest an opener for their single release party. They hand picked local four piece Favours to open the show. The group is relatively new and have delivered this dreamy tune. Make sure you see Favours at their gig September 22 at the Monarch Tavern!

Sam Coffey & The Iron Lungs – “First Time”

Toronto rockers Sam Coffey and the Iron Lungs’ tour van was recently totalled in an accident. The band’s been working to raise enough bucks via their Gofundme page to get back on the road before their fall tour with Frank Turner. If you’re heading to any of those three shows at the Phoenix Sept 19, 20, or 21 make sure you’re there early for Sam Coffey and the Iron Lungs to see this one live!

Nothing But Thieves – “Forever & Ever More”

This band’s 2015 debut was a huge success and really put Nothing But Thieves on the map. Now they’re back with a new EP coming October 19th, and this one’s definitely a gem of a rocking, driving tune. Dare I say it’s a little reminiscent of QOTSA too?
