Moscow Apartment | Indie88 Black Box Sessions

Multi-instrumentalist songwriters Brighid Fry and Pascale Padilla first met as members of the Viva Youth Singers, one of Toronto’s top children’s choirs. A few years later, after becoming good friends, they started performing indie-rock/folk music together under the moniker Moscow Apartment. They recently visited us to perform two new songs, “Two Timer” and “Meredith Palmer,” live at Indie88 in the Black Box studio.

Citing influences like Joni Mitchell, Regina Spektor, St. Vincent, and Big Thief, Fry and Padilla’s unique indie folk rock sound consolidates around their sweet vocal harmonies, and is strengthened by a rare chemistry that only close friends share.

Since forming in 2017, they’ve already won a Canadian Folk Music Award, a Toronto Independent Music Award, the Canadian Songwriting Competition (Under 18 category) and the Slaight Music It’s Your Shot award.
