Mountain Head drummer Kevin Farmer to play drums for 12 hours straight in support of Parkinson’s disease

Canadian drummer Kevin Farmer (Mountain Head) will be playing drums on livestream for 12 hours in support of Parkinson’s Disease.

This year marks the 31st anniversary of the annual Parkinson Canada SuperWalk. Instead of walking, Farmer will be taking a different approach by drumming for 12 hours straight. Farmer is raising funds in support of his father, Alan Farmer, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease 16 years ago.

“Last year I came up with an idea to play drums for 12 hours straight to raise funds for Parkinson Canada,” Farmer says. “I thought I’d raise a couple hundred dollars, but ended up with $10,700 in the first year. This year I’m looking to double that and raise $20,000!”

The event is called “Drums For Parkinson’s.” The livestream will take place on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on August 29th.

During the event, over 25 raffle prizes will be given out to people who donate more than $25 to the cause. Viewers will also be able to donate to Parkinson Canada’s SuperWalk via a link to donate during the live event.

You can tune in to the event here on Sunday, August 29th!
