Metric share video for new single ‘All Comes Crashing,’ announce eight studio album ‘Formentera’

Metric are back with a video for their new song, “All Comes Crashing.” The track comes from their upcoming eighth studio album, Formentera, out July 8th.

The new track comes packed with post-punk guitars and haunting synths. The accompanying video for “All Comes Crashing” features colourful, flashing lights as the band performs along to the track.

“Not everyone has a conventional life with conventional relationships,” frontwoman Emily Haines explains. “‘All Comes Crashing’ is a love song that goes beyond romantic love, it’s an expression of solidarity with whoever it is you would want to have beside you in the event of catastrophe. It might be your best friend, it might be your blood brother or your dog. The song is dedicated to those you consider your family, whatever that looks like for you.”

Watch the video for “All Comes Crashing” below.

The album is named after an island near Ibiza, which was a “dream destination” for the band.

“We came to this realization that it wasn’t even about an actual place anymore, it was about creating an escape for yourself in your mind because you’re powerless over so many things,” Haines explains.

In honour of Formentera, Metric are headed out on a North American headlining tour.

Metric has partnered with PLUS1, which means $1 per ticket will go toward War Child, which empowers children and families in communities affected by war across the globe.

“We’re crafting a set list based on fan favorites including deep cuts from Live It Out and Old World, and it’s been wild to see how the new songs from Formentera flow with the classics from Fantasies and Synthetica,” says Haines. “…I want Metric fans to have the best concert experience possible and feel like they got to escape into another reality with us for the evening.

On their tour, they’re sure to play new tracks like “All Comes Crashing.” Check out the dates below.
