Tame Impala cover The Strokes’ ‘Last Nite’ at Primavera Sound

Tame Impala covered The Strokes’ “Last Nite” during their Primavera Sound headlining set.

The Strokes had to pull out of the festival after a band member tested positive for COVID-19, so Tame Impala paid tribute to the band with a cover. Tame Impala’s rendition of “Last Nite” served as the first song of the encore on June 2nd. It was the first time that Tame Impala ever performed the song, and frontman Kevin Parker teased that it would probably be the last.

“Probably never again,” Parker says before launching into the cover. “It’s just for you guys.”

The Strokes weren’t the only headlining act to withdraw from their performance at Primavera Sound. Massive Attack cancelled their forthcoming tour dates back in March due to illness.

Despite Tame Impala covering “Last Nite,” The Strokes were definitely missed at Primavera Sound. Lately, The Strokes have been breaking out the live debut of some amazing tracks.

Back in March, The Strokes performed “Eternal Summer” live for the first time at Lollapalooza Argentina. It was their first performance of 2022, and they gave their The New Abnormal standout, “Eternal Summer,” a live debut.

In October of 2021, The Strokes also delivered the debut live performance of “Call It Fate, Call It Karma” and “At The Door” at the Forum in Los Angeles.
